This is our review of the best dehumidifiers for laundry rooms.

Laundry rooms can get really humid, so if you’re in there for longer, you might start feeling uncomfortable. Not to mention, very high humidity will wreak havoc on the walls and might even mess up the internal components of your appliances.

Thankfully, a high quality dehumidifier can counter these effects. But with so many to choose from, you might not have the easiest time picking one that fits your needs.

That is why we researched and reviewed the vast majority of available options, looking for the best balance of performance and value.

That perfect combination is achieved by Seavon’s dehumidifier for laundry rooms. This compact unit is perfect for the laundry, providing ample coverage for small to medium-sized spaces, and impressive performance that removes moisture more quickly and efficiently.

Seavon Dehumidifier For Laundry Rooms

BEST OVERALL

At A Glance

If you value a compact build and robust design in your laundry room dehumidifier, Seavon has you covered. This unit is smaller than most, but packs all the performance you could ever need. The best part is that, be it the laundry room or living room, this dehumidifier will fit right in.

Design

It’s apparent that Seavon spent a fair bit of time getting the design of this dehumidifier just right. The entire base is a transparent water tank, helping you catch any build up or mold earlier.

The whole unit is fairly lightweight and compact. We found that this comes in really handy when you’re trying to place the unit in smaller spaces like laundry rooms. A built-in handle also helps with portability.

And finally, this dehumidifier for laundry rooms comes with multi-color LEDs integrated right into the water tank. So if your favorite sweater is afraid of the dark, you can use this dehumidifier as a nightlight!

Capacity

All of those sexy looks do come at the cost of capacity. However, you don’t really need the largest water tank for a laundry room dehumidifier, and 1-liter is actually plenty to accommodate even a larger laundry room.

Coverage

In fact, this puppy is rated to cover as much as a 270 sq-ft space, so it’ll remove moisture from even the largest of laundry rooms.

Speed

You might expect this tiny dehumidifier for laundry rooms to be a bit of a slow-poke when it comes to actually removing moisture from a space. However, the fact is that it’s surprisingly quick.

It can remove as much as 450 ml of moisture from the air per day, which is on the higher end for dehumidifiers of this size.

You get two power modes to play around with, though we only rarely needed to step up to the high power mode. Especially in smaller spaces, the lower setting performs well enough.

Efficiency

If you’re already running a washing machine and dryer, you might not be too keen on adding yet another appliance that draws power.

One benefit of the petite proportions of this laundry room dehumidifier is enhanced efficiency. And here, the Seavon sips power. We never found it to be too power-hungry, and our power bill was all but completely unaffected.

Drainage

The Seavon’s otherwise unblemished record does take a hit when it comes to the drainage. Specifically, there is no continuous drainage option available.

You’ll have to settle for manually emptying the tank every time it is filled up. But because it’s so compact and lightweight, that’s not too big of an issue. Furthermore, you’ll only be running this laundry room dehumidifier for maybe an hour or two at a time, so having to empty it manually isn’t too big a deal.

Noise Levels

We weren’t too concerned about noise levels for this comparison, since any sound the dehumidifier makes will easily be drowned out by the washing machine/dryer running in the background.

Nonetheless, the Seavon performed admirably, never making more than a dull hum that would be hard to make out in even a quiet room.

Special Features

An automatic shutdown feature turns the unit off when the tank is at capacity.

We were also pleasantly surprised by the fact that this dehumidifier for laundry rooms has a washable filter. This is really nice to have, since you can clean it as often as you like, helping prevent potential mold on your clothes.

Who’s It For?

Seavon’s laundry room dehumidifier is for the person who has a smaller laundry room but still wants quick and efficient moisture removal. The feature set also includes stuff like LED lights and a washable filter, adding a bit more value to this unit.

Pros
  • 1 liter water tank
  • Removes 450 ml of moisture per day
  • Energy-efficient design
  • Can cover upto 270 sq-ft of space
  • 2 power modes
  • Customizable LED lights
  • Compact and easy to set up
  • Budget-friendly
  • Whisper quiet operation, especially in the low power setting
  • Washable air filter
  • No need to buy replacement filters
  • Easier to prevent mold
Cons
  • No continuous draining option

Pohl Schmitt Dehumidifier For Laundry Rooms

BEST BUDGET

At A Glance

Pohl Schmitt’s dehumidifier is purpose built for laundry rooms, so it has ample performance and a couple features that make removing moisture from a space that much more effortless. It also doesn’t hurt that this unit is one of the cheapest dehumidifiers for laundry rooms.

Design

Design is not really this dehumidifier’s strong suit. The quality of the plastic could have been better, and the only lights you get are tiny LEDs that tell you if the unit is running or if the tank is full.

Still, it’s insanely lightweight and compact, which is what matters most. The water tank isn’t fully transparent, instead being tinted, which only provides limited visibility inside.

Capacity

The capacity of the water tank is almost half that of our top pick. 500 ml might be enough for smaller laundry rooms, but will fill up pretty quickly in larger spaces.

Coverage

The coverage rating is surprisingly high for such a small and budget-friendly laundry room dehumidifier. It can cover around 200 sq-ft of space, so you shouldn’t have any issues with inconsistent dehumidification.

Speed

Pohl Schmitt claims this dehumidifier can remove as much as 10 ounces of moisture per day, which is more than enough for small spaces like laundry rooms.

We would have liked to see more adjustability for the speed and performance of this laundry room dehumidifier. However, given the budget-friendly price tag, we aren’t too bummed.

Efficiency

And the biggest benefit of such a small dehumidifier for laundry rooms is that it barely draws any power at all! You can expect extremely efficient operation from this dehumidifier, even when used in more demanding scenarios.

Drainage

Once again, your only option for draining this dehumidifier is manually emptying the tank. And with a dehumidifier of this size and price, we weren’t even expecting to get an option for continuous drainage.

Noise Levels

If the noise levels of a laundry room dehumidifier are a sore point for you, this is the unit for you. It uses peltier technology, which means it doesn’t need a compressor. That makes it virtually noise-free.

Special Features

There aren’t a lot of bells and whistles with this dehumidifier for laundry rooms. The most you get is an auto-shutdown feature for when the tank is full.

Other than that, it’s a pretty simple dehumidifier for laundry rooms. It does away with the extra stuff, giving it better reliability and a more focused design.

Who’s It For?

Pohl Schmitt’s laundry room dehumidifier is for the person who doesn’t want to spend too much money on a dehumidifier. Just be prepared to sacrifice some features and cool tricks. Performance thankfully stays pretty strong, and moisture removal is excellent.

Pros
  • Can remove 10 ounces of moisture per day
  • Covers up to 200 sq-ft of space
  • 500 ml water tank
  • Budget-friendly
  • Very lightweight and compact
  • Easily accessible water tank
  • Peltier technology eliminates the need for a compressor
  • Extremely quiet dehumidifier
  • Auto shutdown feature for when the tank is full
Cons
  • Not the most feature-rich dehumidifier

Gocheer Dehumidifier For Laundry Rooms

BEST PREMIUM

At A Glance

The Gocheer laundry room dehumidifier might cost a bit more, but it justifies the price with higher performance, a couple extra features, and a higher capacity. It’s perfectly suited to even the largest of laundry rooms, and will even work well for other spaces around the house.

Design

Gocheer kept it clean and simple with this dehumidifier. It’s a taller unit compared to some of our other picks, but that helps it slide into tight spots in your laundry room with ease.

You get three large indicator lights on the front of the unit, letting you know stuff like when the unit is running or when the tank is full and needs to be emptied.

We also liked the fact that the tank is see-through from the back but also has a small window up front that lets you see the water level at all times.

Capacity

Gocheer really went the extra mile with the water tank on this dehumidifier. It is the largest tank you can get on any laundry room dehumidifier on this list, coming in at a healthy 2000 ml.

That means that even when used in the largest, most humid laundry rooms, this dehumidifier won’t need to be emptied that frequently.

Coverage

The same goes for coverage. This laundry room dehumidifier can cover up to 680 sq-ft, which blows all the other units on this list out of the water.

This dehumidifier is perfect for laundry rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, and even living rooms.

Speed

The speed with which this dehumidifier removes moisture is so fast that when testing it, we thought maybe our washing machine was faulty, since there was barely any humidity in the air at all!

It can remove as much as 1000 ml of moisture from the atmosphere per day, which easily beats all of the other dehumidifiers we’ve tested.

Again, we do wish we could control the speed with which this dehumidifier removes moisture, but there isn’t really much adjustability here.

Efficiency

It is a larger dehumidifier unit, so you wouldn’t be blamed for expecting higher power consumption.

We found that while this laundry room dehumidifier draws a bit more power, it’s nothing that you need be concerned about. This is especially true when you consider the performance this unit is putting out.

Overall, it’s a fairly power-efficient unit and one that won’t cause any spikes in your power bill.

Drainage

Manually emptying the tank is your only option for draining this dehumidifier. Of all the units we tested, we were hoping this one would have the option of continuous drainage.

However, that proved to be too ambitious for this unit, and we had to make do with manually emptying the tank every time.

Here, we found the ergonomic design of the water tank to be really convenient.

Noise Levels

You can rest assured that this dehumidifier for laundry rooms doesn’t make too much noise. This is important on a dehumidifier like this one that has the performance to be used in larger spaces like bedrooms and living rooms, since you might end up sleeping with it on or when you have guests over.

Special Features

This dehumidifier has a significantly larger air inlet than most, which enables it to offer best in class moisture removal capabilities.

It uses semiconductor condensate technology, which has a host of benefits, such as faster dehumidification, lower operating noise, and improved efficiency.

And of course, like any laundry room dehumidifier worth its salt, this one will automatically shut down when the tank is full, so you don’t have to worry about any leaking or overflowing.

Who’s It For?

This laundry room dehumidifier is for the person who doesn’t want their unit permanently bound to the laundry room! To that end, it has the performance and the features to effectively remove moisture in larger spaces as well.

Pros
  • 2000 ml water tank
  • Can cover upto 680 sq-ft of space
  • Removes up to 1000 ml of moisture per day
  • Easily accessible water tank
  • See-through design lets you keep an eye out for any buildup
  • Water level indicator
  • Simple design that is easy to place anywhere in a space
  • Semiconductor condensate technology used
  • Better efficiency and performance
  • Virtually noise-free operation
  • Fastest moisture removal capability
  • Larger air inlet for better performance
Cons
  • A bit more expensive than most other laundry room dehumidifiers
