In this article, we’re reviewing the best humidifier for singers.
Does the following sound familiar to you as a singer? You keep hydrating with water, but your throat remains dry.
You even use warm water and lemon, or perhaps a small glass of sherry or Port, but nothing seems to help.
The problem could be low humidity in your practice environment.
Because I’m asked the question so frequently, and because I do a lot of voice-over work myself, I decided to put together a top-three list of the absolute best humidifiers that will solve the problem for singers and voice artists.
I tested 3 products and found the HuProPremium Ultrasonic Cool & Warm Mist humidifier to be the best humidifier for singers.
The HuPro humidifier is great for small and large spaces, so whether you need it for a practice room or for your whole home, it will serve the purpose.
But let’s dig into the results of my tests.
HuPro Premium Ultrasonic humidifier
OVERALL BEST
In short, this humidifier from HuPro has a sleek, futuristic design with a host of bells and whistles to get the humidity levels in your environment just right.
The water tank capacity in this unit is 4 liters – this will give you around 30 hours of continuous operation – and it will comfortably maintain comfortable humidity levels in areas as large as 500 square feet.
The tank is also top-filling, so a refill is painless, and more importantly, spill-less.
It also sports an essential oil diffuser. Add a few drops of your favorite oils to the oil tray, and change the atmosphere of your practice or living space from stuffy to breezy and fresh.
Regular cleaning has been factored into the design of the unit. The tank detaches and fits into a regular-sized sink. Simply do a 5-minute vinegar rinse, then repeat, but with tap water, use a brush (included in your package) to get to hard-to-reach areas, let it drip-dry, and you’re done.
The unit also gives you both cool and warm mist options, which makes it fantastic for both winter and summer use.
With its ability to keep the humidity at a constant and comfortable 43% in areas of up to 500 square feet, this unit is ultimately versatile.
The noise levels on this HuPro are less than 30 dB. You can sing and even record while the unit does its work in the background – no low-level drone or gurgle that plagues so many of its competitors.
The whisper-quiet operation is one of the big wins that makes the HuPro humidifier stand out as one of the best humidifiers for singers.
But it doesn’t end there. While the designers clearly set themselves the goal of making this the best humidifier for singers by reducing the noise levels to barely audible, it would seem they also had restful nights as a top-of-mind target.
Oh, yes, and it comes with a nifty little remote control that lets you operate it without leaving the piano or microphone!
The HuPro Premium Ultrasonic Cool & Warm Mist humidifier has a special function I haven’t seen in any other humidifier before. It has a sleep mode that can be activated with a one-button action.
This sleep mode deactivates all the LEDs on the unit and drops the operational noise to the lowest levels the HuProis capable of. This makes this humidifier fantastic to use at night.
I’m a light sleeper, and I ran this unit through the night during the entire three weeks of testing without missing a second of sleep. A happy first in all my tests!
Another distinct feature of this humidifier is the ionization lamp. It is a part of a three-stage sterilization process that prevents odors from floating around in the atmosphere, even when you’re not diffusing essential oils. It is simply ingenious!
Water passes through active mineral and carbon granules in the first stage of the odor-elimination process. At the same time, the lamp produces 300 million sterilizing ions per minute.
By the time the water particles are released into the atmosphere, they are sterilized, ionized, and completely odor-free.
During the testing period, I noticed several changes in the general well-being of my family. We live in a particularly dry area, so my kids often suffer from stuffiness and allergies.
There was a marked improvement during the three weeks the HuPro lived and worked in our home. As a singer, you’d know how congested sinuses and an itchy throat and nose adversely affect your day!
This humidifier also solved a rather unexpected issue. We have hardwood floors in our home, and cracking and splitting are always a concern, especially during the drier-than-usual season.
On the advice of a local carpenter, we decided to keep the unit after the testing period as a preventative measure.
All things considered, this is a versatile, durable, and pretty piece of equipment. The design is thoughtful and touches on several tender points such as noise, hygiene, and ultimate ease of use.
It is perfectly happy with large areas and able to keep humidity at an equal 43% for up to 30 hours.
If you’re a singer looking for a tailor-made humidifier, this is undoubtedly the unit for you!

Everlasting Comfort Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier
BEST BUDGET
This humidifier from Everlasting Comfort is another unit that is ideal for singers struggling with a dry-air environment. It has fabulous features, well thought through functionality, and is based on solid industrial design principles, so it will blend in with your interior design.
The water tank has a 1.6-gallon capacity and noise levels are kept to below 40 dB.
The dimensions (14.4X12.3X8) and weighing in at a smidgeon over 14 pounds, make it a lightweight unit, easy to cart from room to room. As a singer, you can use it in the area or studio where you practice or record, as well as in your living room or bedroom.
Many humidifiers are a nightmare to fill. Not so with the Everlasting Comfort. It has a handy drip tray to catch accidental spillage and fits comfortably into any basin or sink.
It also has an essential oil tray. And, boy, is it effective! In the three weeks of testing, it made my home smell like an exotic spice island getaway!
My wife used aromatherapy oils in the diffuser and ended up buying one of these units for her home office.
The runtime on this unit with its large tank is a comfortable 48 to 50 hours. During the operating time, it keeps the humidity levels at a steady 41%, and after a few days of continual use I could feel the change-of-season stuffiness I always experience dissolve into nothingness!
It is a small humidifier, but it packs a big punch. It is equally comfortable in a smaller room, and spaces above 400 square feet. Remember though – the bigger the space, the longer it will take to reach the required humidity levels.
Once the required humidity is reached, it will maintain the atmosphere in the room without a glitch.
When it runs out of water, the unit switches itself off. This is a nifty safety feature that protects both the humidifier against permanent damage caused by overheating and the environment in which it operates.
The steam nozzle of the Everlasting Comfort humidifier can turn a full 360 degrees. That means you can control the direction in which the vapor is distributed.
It also features a collection of warning lights – one for an empty water tank, one to indicate a blockage, and another prompting you to clean the atomizer.
Again, in this way, the humidifier actually helps you to care for it.
I was truly happy with this little unit’s performance for the entire time it spent with us and ended up understanding why it comes recommended as an ideal humidifier for singers.
It gives you complete and accurate control of humidity levels in your home, and in the possessive does away with many irritating symptoms caused by dry air. No more scratchy throat, clogged sinuses, or dry mouth – and that is from firsthand experience.
When I was done with the test in our home, my wife had been using her Everlasting Comfort in her office for around three weeks. I thought I’d ask her what she thought. The reply was like a teenage love letter.
“It’s the best thing I ever bought,” she said. “I love it, I love it, I LOVE IT!”
Far be it for me to argue with such a vote of confidence. If you’re looking for the best humidifier for singers, I suggest you take my wife’s advice. I always do …

Levoit Classic 200 Humidifier
PREMIUM CHOICE
Performance is excellent, and the operating costs are extremely low. This makes the Levoit one of my favorite humidifiers for singers.
The Levoit is definitely a premium appliance. And it has comfortably earned its place as one of my top selections in this search for the best humidifier for singers.
It has a generous four-liter water tank capacity.
Cleaning is especially easy with the large access port. The same with refilling.
The controls aren’t as intuitive as they could be, but this is not nearly bad enough to be a deal-breaker.
Now, the concept of turning water into vapor is scientifically easy enough for a kind to understand. That said, not all humidifiers in the residential niche are created equal.
Shape, design, water capacity, ease of maintenance, running costs, and more play a role in how well they are received, and whether they can maintain their market position. Having lived with this Levoit for the three weeks it was assigned to me, made me understand why this is indeed a premium product.
There wasn’t much to dislike about this humidifier.
Except perhaps the user interface. It takes a while to learn.
When measured against pure humidity output, the Levoit proved just about unbeatable. In three hours, it managed to raise the humidity level in my living room from 30% to 75%! This is a whopping 145% increase!
Granted, no one in their right mind would attempt to live with a humidity level of 75%, but understand I simply wanted to see what this humidifier from Levoit is capable of.
It, unfortunately, lacks a humidistat – something which most of its competitors have as a standard feature. I am quick to add, however, that this is not a crisis at all. I measure the humidity during these tests with separate instruments, and the Levoit kept the levels steady at the 45% I eventually chose.
The Levoit Classic 200 is possibly the easiest humidifier to clean that I have EVER tested. This is really important because warm air with a lot of moisture is the perfect nursery for all kinds of evil germ spawn.
Vaporizing things like mold and spores, and then making them airborne with water vapor, is a surefire route to respiratory disaster. And the designers of this Levoit had that first and foremost in mind.
There is a large access opening to the interior chamber, large enough, in fact, for me to fit my claw into, which is saying something. I could even get a scrubbing brush in there.
The interior was also designed with rounded edges. This is great because it makes it easier to clean, but more importantly, mold and other nasties have a hard time attaching to rounded surfaces. They prefer dark and shady angles.
I didn’t like the user interface, as I mentioned. There is a button that allows you to select the mode you want to operate in, and those modes are color coded – blue for low, orange for medium, and purple for high.
The color code (why they chose this specific array is beyond me) is non-intuitive, and quite frankly it doesn’t make sense.
There is a red light that warns you when the water is low – and this, by comparison, makes complete sense.
The Levoit 200 doesn’t break the bank when you purchase it and operating it for a year will set you back the princely sum of around $10. Now, that’s value for money.
The Levoit Classic 200 is undoubtedly one of the best humidifiers for singers. I would gladly recommend it with an open heart. In fact, I was a little sad to see it go after the test was over.
