SmartDevil’s humidifier may be small but packs one hell of a punch.
It is a silent bedroom humidifier that fits just about anywhere and doesn’t break the bank.

Smart Devil Humidifier for Bedrooms
OVERALL BEST
The SmartDevil bedroom humidifier ticks a ton of important boxes. It is compact but well-built and performs more like a humidifier twice the price. Perhaps more importantly, it is silent, so you can count sheep in peace.
Bedroom humidifiers may not need to be the most durable thing on the planet, but it doesn’t hurt to have a well-built one. SmartDevil’s compact bedroom humidifier uses a high-quality plastic build.
This is important because plenty of sub-par plastic humidifiers fail or even melt in excess heat! Not so with the SmartDevil. Feel free to put this puppy in direct sunlight, in a warm room, or anywhere else; it was forged in the depths of hell, after all.
Besides being ‘smart,’ this is one handsome devil too. The styling is understated but has that premium feel that fits well with most bedroom decor.
You can choose from 5 different color options. And while we were partial to dark blue, lighter, more neutral colors are available, so feel free to mix and match with your drapes.
We have a reasonably large-capacity water tank. 500 ml may not sound like much, but you’d be surprised how long it lasts. Running the thing constantly, we got just under 10 hours of operation.
In other words, a full tank could last you for 2 nights if you’re an early riser. And even if you like to sleep in, the SmartDevil is more than capable of keeping up.
This bedroom humidifier supports two different spray modes, constant and intermittent. The intermittent mode sprays for 3 seconds and then stops for 2. This resulted in a noticeable boost in the runtime. We could not recreate the claimed 18 hours but got close with around 15.
Another benefit of having two spray modes is getting two different spray volumes. So if the constant mode with its 50 ml/hour spray volume is a bit much for your sinuses, switch over to intermittent and bring it down to 30 ml/hour.
Next up, we have to talk (or rather, whisper) about just how silent this bedroom humidifier is. Even with the constant spray mode, we didn’t notice it running in the background. A quiet bedroom humidifier and a good night’s sleep go hand in hand, so SmartDevil gets some more points.
We were impressed by the actual water diffusion mechanism. SmartDevil employs an ultrasonic setup that diffuses the water into micron-sized particles. This makes for better dispersion and faster humidification.
It’s not all good news, though. One problem we encountered was that this humidifier struggled to cover the whole space in larger bedrooms. Now keep in mind that we’re talking about LARGE bedrooms and spaces. In fact, it shouldn’t have any issues covering the vast majority of room sizes, but it’s something to keep in mind.
Rounding up the feature set, you have an automatic shut-off function for when the water level becomes low. This bedroom humidifier is USB-powered, which is always nice to see.
And finally, it does come with a nightlight function. This is one of those features that just makes sense on a bedroom humidifier. You can leave it on constantly or set it to the ‘breathing’ mode, which enables soft glowing if you’re feeling adventurous.
Pros
- Compact size
- Premium-feeling build
- High-quality plastic
- Available in various color options
- Two different spray modes supported
- 500 ml water tank
- Constant operation can last up to 10 hours
- Intermittent setting can last up to 15 hours
- 30 ml/hour and 50 ml/hour spray volumes
- Ultrasonic water diffusion
- Micron-sized water diffusion
- One of the most silent bedroom humidifiers
- USB-powered
- Automatic shut-off feature
- Enabled when the water level is low
- Integrated night light with two modes
Cons
- Not the best suited for large (we’re talking LARGE) bedrooms and spaces
Salamra Cool Mist Humidifier for Bedrooms
BEST BUDGET
If the thought of buying pricey bedroom humidifiers keeps you up at night, give Salamra’s budget-friendly cool mist humidifier a look. You get ultrasonic water diffusion for a fine mist, non-intrusive operation, and a cool Apple HomePod-style look!
Kicking things off with the water tank capacity, the Salamra is rated to hold 300 ml. That’s certainly less than many of its competitors. Still, at this price point, we aren’t too bummed.
In fact, it was enough to (just about) get us through a regular night of sleep. Consider other options if you tend to sleep longer than 6 or 7 hours a night.
The ultrasonic diffusion is good for more than just producing the finest mist possible. It also facilitates lower noise levels. The Salamra surprised us because we were fully expecting this inexpensive bedroom humidifier to make a racket. But in our experience, it was as quiet as a mouse.
Again, you get two spray modes, constant and intermittent. Here, we have to say that we were a bit disappointed with the lasting power of the intermittent setting.
While the constant spray mode is understandably short-lived, given the water tank volume, we hoped the intermittent setting would have better endurance. However, it only improved lasting power by about an hour in most situations.
This also brings up another problem we noticed. The mist volume is rated between 25 ml/hour and 35 ml/hour, depending on the spray mode. That means this bedroom humidifier struggles to work in very large bedrooms.
Enough ragging on the Salamra, though. Let’s talk about some of this budget-friendly bedroom humidifier’s strengths. The ergonomic one-button design is surprisingly convenient and cleans up the exterior for a simpler look.
Speaking of design, this has to be the most compact bedroom humidifier we’ve ever seen. You would be forgiven for thinking this was a small jar for snacks! It’s not very tall or wide, so positioning it on your nightstand or desk won’t require much moving around of the stuff already there. It also weighs next to nothing if that’s a concern.
The best part is that since it’s so small and powered by USB, you can even take it with you in the car!
Another point in favor of the Salamra is the effortless refill process. That’s good news, considering how often you’ll be refilling it. But again, the process is certainly easier than the other larger bedroom humidifiers we’ve tested.
It sports an auto shut-off function, so it doesn’t end up running and possibly getting damaged after the water runs out. The included USB cable is nice and convenient for powering this humidifier and even easier to replace if needed.
And finally, we get to this humidifier’s best, or at the very least, most noticeable feature. It has a large night light integrated into the top lid. It’s what gives it that Apple HomePod look. We enjoyed the multi-color design, which fills the room and keeps you safe from the boogeyman (or boogeymen!).
There’s also a ring light that goes around the circumference of this bedroom humidifier and really brings the design together.
Pros
- The most compact design of any bedroom humidifier
- Lightweight and portable
- USB powered
- Can be taken with you in the car
- Apple HomePod-inspired look
- Ultrasonic water diffusion
- Produces a fine mist
- Very quiet operation
- Ideal for use while sleeping
- Constant and intermittent spray modes
- One-button control system is really convenient
- Large integrated night light
- Colorful and aesthetically-pleasing
- Ring light all around the humidifier
Cons
- 300 ml water tank not the longest lasting
- Spray volume isn’t really suited to larger rooms
LEVOIT Humidifier for Large Bedrooms
PREMIUM CHOICE
Levoit’s bedroom humidifier might cost a bit more, but it’s well worth it. It has the largest water tank for the best-lasting power, a unique adjustable mist nozzle, stealthy looks, and equally stealthy operation.
The first thing you notice about this bedroom humidifier is its large size and striking design. If you are looking for a compact bedroom humidifier, you’ll have to look elsewhere.
This gargantuan humidifier is designed for use in larger spaces such as living rooms, basements, and bedrooms that don’t skimp out on square footage.
Not that it’s hard to gauge what this bedroom humidifier is all about. The minute you see the large 6-liter water tank, you know this thing is gonna last. Levoit claims 60 hours of lasting power, and we are happy to announce that we got pretty close to that in our testing.
With that kind of lasting power, you would think this bedroom humidifier was meant for bears who were hibernating for the winter!
For us humans, though, the result is fewer, less frequent refills and more peace of mind. The voluminous size of this humidifier also means you aren’t limited to large bedrooms and indoor spaces. You might even be able to get away with using it in some semi-enclosed outdoor spots.
As for the design of this bedroom humidifier, we are absolutely smitten. You get a modern, understated look. The base is blacked out, and the water tank is tinted, allowing the humidifier to blend into its surroundings.
Another feature that helps this humidifier keep a low profile is the lower noise levels when operating at full blast. Notably, it is a tad bit louder than the other bedroom humidifiers we’ve talked about, but only when put right up against a decibel meter.
If you use your ears to gauge noise levels like a normal person, the Levoit’s noise levels are imperceptible from those of other bedroom humidifiers as large as this one.
The attention to detail that went into designing this bedroom humidifier deserves praise. Levoit saw the larger size and equipped this humidifier with two grab handles, which were a godsend for when we needed to move this heavy humidifier around.
That attention to detail also extends to the water tank refilling process. You benefit from a large top-down opening that prevents accidental spillage and makes the refill process, infrequent as it is, that much easier.
But what’s that one feature that sets this bedroom humidifier apart from the pack? Well, we think it’s the adjustable mist nozzle, which is a feature we wish more bedroom humidifiers would offer. Put simply, the nozzle can be rotated 360 degrees to aim the mist any which where you want to.
The convenience of being able to direct the mist towards a specific spot in the room is a luxury we didn’t know we needed in our lives.
It makes even more sense on a large bedroom humidifier such as this one, which is rated to cover over 500 square feet of space.
Equally impressive and convenient is the control knob. On lesser humidifiers, you have to rely on spray modes to regulate the amount of mist, but that’s more of a workaround than an actual solution.
On Levoit’s offering, you get a dedicated knob that can be used to set just the right amount of mist.
Bringing this review to a close, we have the add-ons. You get two water filter sponges with this bedroom humidifier; one installed in the humidifier and one replacement in the box.
You also get an included cleansing brush, which is one less thing you’ll have to buy, and another feature that makes the hefty price a bit more palatable.
Pros
- Largest water tank at 6 liters
- Modern, understated design
- Integrated grab handles
- The ergonomic top-down refill process
- Rated to cover over 500 square feet of space
- Ideal for larger bedrooms, living rooms, semi-enclosed outdoor spaces
- Rated to last for 60 hours on one full tank
- Adjustable mist nozzle
- 360-degree adjustment allows you to customize mist direction
- The control knob lets you adjust the amount of mist being produced
- 2 water filter sponges included in the box
- Comes with a cleaning brush
Cons
- Ever so slightly more noise than the smaller-sized bedroom humidifiers
ASAKUKI Essential Oil Diffuser and Humidifier for Bedrooms
WORTHY CONSIDERATION
Didn’t find what you were looking for? Asakuki’s humidifier doubles as an essential oil diffuser. It comes with plenty of features that are unique to this bedroom humidifier and are actually useful instead of just being marketing gimmicks.
Quickly touching on the design of this humidifier-essential oil diffuser combo, it is interesting, to say the least. The whole humidifier uses high-quality polypropylene, which is lightweight but still highly durable.
The entire outer shell is one large LED panel that supports 7 different colors. It’s the perfect mood lighting setup, offering soft, diffused light that isn’t too harsh or distracting. Not only does that give this bedroom humidifier night light functionality, but it also makes it look cooler in general.
Besides diffusing light, this puppy also works well for diffusing essential oils into the surrounding atmosphere. Essential oils have different viscosity compared to water, which means most of the other humidifiers on this list can’t really diffuse them effectively. That’s just one of the features that give the Asakuki a leg up over the competition.
And while it works really well as an essential oil diffuser, you came here for its humidifier capabilities. And in that regard, it is really quite good.
The 500 ml tank is well-suited for covering even larger bedrooms. The manufacturer estimates that it can cover up to a 300-square-foot room, which should be plenty for most applications.
As for lasting power, this humidifier manages to keep up with options that have a bit more water tank capacity to play with. We found that a full tank lasts between 8 and 14 hours, depending on the mode you are using it in.
Speaking of, you get strong and weak mist modes so you can get your preferred amount of mist. Here, we found the customizable running times to also be really useful. You can choose between constant operation, preset times of 1, 2, or 3 hours, or an intermittent setting.
The humidifier uses an ultrasonic 2.4 MHz vibrating plate, which provides uniform mist production. But this powerful humidification does not come at the cost of loud, distracting sounds. In fact, this bedroom humidifier is virtually noise-free. Credit goes to the unique water baffle design, which Asakuki has patented.
Special attention seems to have been given to the ergonomics of this bedroom humidifier. It features convenient control buttons at the base of the machine, which you can use to control the various settings and functions. The socket position has also been moved to the side for easier access.
But perhaps the best feature of this bedroom humidifier is the remote control it comes with. This remote control allows you to change settings on the fly. Well, as long as you fly within a 17-ish foot radius, that is.
Still, we do have some complaints. Specifically, the power cord is a bit short at just 7 inches. That means you’ll have to place this humidifier a bit closer to wall outlets, limiting the locations you can set it up at.
Other than that, we are pretty happy with the Asakuki bedroom humidifier and essential oil diffuser. It should definitely be on your shortlist.
